Department of Computer Science

With rapid economic growth and technological advancement, market-oriented education in Information Technology has become essential for national development. Established in 2004, the Department of Computer Science at Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore provides state-of-the-art computer laboratories and experienced faculty to equip students with advanced computing knowledge and practical skills required in today’s digital world.The department proudly offers two programs

 BSCS (4-Year)  Regular                               BSCS (4-Year)-Self-Support

 The program has been accredited by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), a national regulatory body established by the Higher Education Commission to evaluate and accredit computing degree programs such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Technology in universities and affiliated colleges across Pakistan. The department takes pride in being among the pioneers in the pioneer in public sector colleges and one of the earliest institutions to obtain NCEAC accreditation, reflecting its strong commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and internationally aligned standards in computing education.

The Industry-Connect Committee and Code Nexus Society actively promote leadership, communication, and professional growth in alignment with the policies of the Higher Education Commission. Through workshops, competitions, hackathons, and outreach programs, these platforms enhance students’ technical expertise, teamwork, and career readiness.
