Key Information

The academic session starts in September and concludes in June every year.

  • Admission to BS (FYDP) classes is made according to the schedule advertised in the leading newspapers.
  • F.A, F.Sc, A Level/ Senior Cambridge students are eligible to apply for BS (FYDP) program.
  • However, students can also apply in the subjects which are not offered at Intermediate level (Science Subjects are not included).
  • The students who wish to study English or Fine Arts will have to qualify an aptitude test.
  • Aptitude test is of secondary school standard.
  • Candidates are supposed to achieve at least 50% marks in F.A/ F.Sc clearing all the subjects.
  • Online admissions are open but the candidates have to buy prospectus at the time of admission.

Online Merit

98% seats are filled on open Merit.

• Reserved Seats

2% seats are reserved for:

►The disabled and handicapped applicants    ► Transgender             ► Minorities

  • Admission forms for specified category must be marked clearly.
  • Foreign students can apply online from any country but they must provide intermediate board certificate.
  • General conditions for admissions against these reserved seats are the same as laid down for the candidates applying for admission on merit.
  • A copy of domicile is mandatory.

How to apply Online

Online Admissions forms will be available on OCAS website. Candidates applying for online admissions should follow the instructions given on the website.

How to apply on Campus

  • The application form for admission and the prospectus can be obtained from the College office.
  • No admission form is accepted after the due date.
  • The lists of the candidates selected are displayed on the college notice board.
  • The selected candidates are required to pay the admission dues by the notified dates, failing which their admission shall stand cancelled.

Requirements at the time of Submission of Application in BS (FYDP)

  • A copy of character certificate from Head of the institution last attended.
  • Original migration certificate in case the applicant is from a board other than Lahore.
  • Migration from other universities is not allowed.
  • Student’s B-Form (1-copy)
  • Student’s Matric certificate (1-copy)
  • Student’s FA/ Sc. Result card (1-copy)

Requirements at the time of Admission in BS (FYDP)

  • Student’s B-Form (3-Copies)
  • Matric Certificate (3-Copies)
  • F.A/ F.Sc Certificate (3-Copies)
  • Father’s/ Guardian’s I_D Card (3-Copies)
  • Student’s ID Card (3-Copies)
  • Passport size photos with blue background (4-Copies)
  • Health proforma, duly signed by a Medical Officer of Govt. Hospital, must be attached.

EXAMINATION SYSTEM

Semester System

All 4 year degree programs in all departments have semester system. 

Rules of the Examination (Semester System)

BS is a four years degree program that consists of 8 semesters.Registration for exams would be completely on the basis of merit. Students should keep in mind the following instructions:

  1. It is compulsory to appear in all exams.

The division of marks for the entire semester is as follows:

Mid-term exam:                                       30 marks.

Quiz, assignment and presentations:   20 marks. 

Final Exam:                                50 Marks

Total                                           100 Marks

  1. Those with less than 80% attendance are not allowed to sit the final exams.
  2. It is compulsory to achieve 50% marks in tests and exams individually. In case of failure in exam, a re-sit will be conducted.
  3. A failed student shall be given a chance for re-sit During this period, she will continue with her classes. If she is not able to clear her exam in 2 re-sits or is unable to appear, she will be considered as “dropped”.
  4. Dropped students will have to discontinue their academic activities. Their academic session will be suspended until they clear their failed subjects.

Cheating Offences

Any candidate found guilty of:

  • Cheating
  • Impersonation
  • Submitting fake or forged documents
  • Copying from any paper, book or notes
  • Possessing a cell phone or any electronic device helpful in examination

Her case shall be referred to the committee dealing with unfair means cases.

If found guilty by the committee after due investigation, following disciplinary action can be taken against them.

  1.  Cancellation of paper
  2.  Suspension from program for one semester
  3.  Fine of 2000/-
  4.  Expulsion forever from the university if a candidate commits a cognizable offence. The university may in addition to taking action under the above regulations, initiate legal proceedings against the offender under the law for the time being enforced.

Result Gradation

LCWU follows Absolute Grading Method (based on fixed scales) for the assessment & evaluation. The Grade Point will be assessed from percentage marks Letter Grade and Corresponding grade-point will be awarded as follows:

Grade Point Average (GPA)

Performance in any semester is reported in Grade Point Average. This is the average of weighted grade points earned in the courses taken during the semester.The Grade Point Average is obtained by dividing the sum of Grade Point x Credit Hours attained in each course by the total number of Credit hours for that semester.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)

Cumulative Grade Point Average is the up-to-date mean of the Grade Point earned by the student in a program of study. It is an indication of student’s overall performance at any point in the program.It is calculated by dividing the total of Grade Point x Credit Hours attained by the student in all semester by the total number of credit hours for all the semester.

 
 

CGPA= Sum over taken Course in all Semester (Course Credit Hours x Grade Point Earned Total Credit Hours taken in all Semester Absent student from the Final Examination will be considered fail.

Absent student from the Final Examination will be considered fail. Moderation of the assessment in the various courses will be done at the end of each semester before the declaration of final results in faculty meeting or otherwise constituted committee for the purpose.

Attendance Rules and Schedule of Fines for Absence

  • The schedule for fines due to absence is as follows.
  • The fine for being absent for one day is 50/-
  • The students who remain absent during examinations will be fined 200 per paper.
  • The students without Card or not in proper uniform will be fined Rs.100.
  • The students may get duplicate identity and bus card after payment offine 100.
  • Students are expected to be regular and punctual and if a student remains absent from the college for three days in a month, her name will be struck off the If her absence is for genuine reasons, the principal may consider her application for re-admission.
  • The name of a student will also be struck off due to non-payment of dues and rude She may be allowed re-admission by the principal. The fee for re-admission will be Rs. 500. However, readmission can be granted only once.
  • A book containing leave forms is available at the time of admission for 200 per copy.
Parent Teacher Meeting
  • Parent-teacher meeting in held twice a year as per requirement of the concerned It is compulsory for the parents the attend PTM.
Uniform
  1. White cotton/wash-n-wear uniform prescribed for students includes: Knee length, full sleeves shirt with collar, proper shalwar and chiffon/georgette All students are expected to observe simplicity. They are not allowed to wear tight pajamas/jeans.
  2. Make-up and jewellery are forbidden.
  3. Students are directed to wear black shoes/black joggers with black socks, as a part of their Open slippers are not allowed.
  4. Fine is levied and strict disciplinary action is taken in case of non-observance of uniform.
Category I Discipline
  1. Incomplete uniform (Rs.100)
  2. With out Uniform (Rs.150)
  3. Breach of any discipline (Rs.200 to Rs. 1000)
  4. Bringing of camera or tape recorder (Rs.1000)

(Tape Recorder or cellular gadgets shall only be returned on the written request of the parents of the students).

College Identity Card
  1. On admission, every student must get her college I.D. card issued by the college. If the card is lost, duplicate card on double charges can be issued.
  2. It is essential for every student during college hours to wear lanyard bearing identity card to show that she is a regular college Student.
