The Department of International Relations at Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore provides students with a strong academic foundation in global politics, foreign policy, international organizations, diplomacy, and peace and conflict studies.The department fosters critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and informed awareness of global issues. Students are equipped with the intellectual tools necessary to understand and address contemporary international challenges. Through academic rigor and scholarly engagement, the department prepares graduates for careers in education, civil services, research, diplomacy, international organizations, and policy analysis. In alignment with the college’s mission of providing quality education for female students, the Department of International Relations is committed to: promoting academic excellence and research-based learning, quipping students with a comprehensive understanding of global politics, economies, and cultures, developing critical thinking, analytical, and policy-evaluation skills, encouraging dialogue on peace, justice, human rights, and global cooperation, preparing graduates to contribute meaningfully to national and international development

 

Community Engagement and Peacebuilding

The Department of International Relations actively supports the National Action Plan (NAP) by promoting inclusive nationalism, social cohesion, and respect for ethnic and cultural diversity. The department runs a Peace Society to encourage interfaith harmony and mutual respect among students from diverse religious backgrounds, reinforcing the values of tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence. Through seminars, academic discussions, and awareness programs, the Head of Department and faculty foster responsible citizenship and strengthen national unity.
