Education is often restricted to the imparting of textual information in our country. Gulberg College lays special emphasis on providing opportunity to widen mental horizon and broaden the vision of the students and promotion of general interest. To this effect certain co-curricular activities are offered through the following societies.

Counselling Service for the Students

GGCW Gulberg has taken an initiative to provide counselling service to the students who are facing emotional and psychological problems, and to help in their career planning and the selection of subjects.

Seminars

  1. Regular seminars are held in the college to provide the students an opportunity for guidance and enhancement of knowledge.
  2. The system operates through group of students under the guidance of teachers in charge.
  3. The seminars act as a supportive system for understanding and applying the matters pertaining to academics. This format is used to provide a sound medium for effective communication between the qualified person and young adults, their teachers and parents. An interactive dialogue between students and a learned scholar/expert helps in sharing of rich experiences, continuous learning of ideas and a resultant ongoing process of self­ discovery. This healthy activity shuns away aggressive and negative attitude of young minds and broadens their horizon to raise their self-esteem and confidence in their peers and teachers. A sense of security and trust develops in these fragile hearts to count on their mentors in times of adversity and distress.
  4. A regular calendar is maintained for seminars/workshops meetings. Each discipline gets an opportunity to organize an event having appeal for common These activities inculcates a sense of responsibility and participation, an essential blend for maturity and enterprise and enlightenment.

Games and Sports

In order to channelize the zest, vigor, and vitality of young blood towards constructive activities, maximum facilities of a number of games are available.

Each student must participate in at least one game as her participation is evaluated in internal assessment.

Red Crescent Society

The college is a member of the Punjab Red Crescent Society. Students are enrolled at a nominal annual subscription to participate in a variety of philanthropic activities such as blood donation, funds raising campaign, Eid Gift distribution to poor patients etc.

Girl Guides

The students have an option to join the College Girl Guides Association to develop in them a spirit of social service and benevolence. The group can participate in various activities and programs as per guides schedule.

Students Council

There is a students’ representative council of selected students to oversee the upkeep and decorum of the college discipline among the students.

OTHER FACILITIES

Transport

The college offers the facility of two buses. The finances needed for them are generated through students as per government directive. For the general maintenance and repair of these buses, each student pays an annual transport fund, while their monthly expenses are charged from those who avail this facility for commuting to and from the college.

Medical Camp

A dispensary providing the first aid is available for the students, under the supervision of a nurse in charge to provide relief for minor ailments or injuries in the college.
