Statistics is a multidisciplinary subject with widespread applications in nearly all physical and social sciences. Its significance has grown exponentially with the rise of data science and data analytics. Statistics was introduced at Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore, in 1986 at both the intermediate and undergraduate levels and has remained a popular choice among students ever since. With the introduction of BS programs in various disciplines in 2010, statistics is now taught as both a minor and compulsory course in most academic programs.
