Introduction
Arabic is the language of the Quran and the Sunnah. It is the main source of Islamic literature. Therefore, we offer “Arabic Language and Literature” as a major course from the 1st to the 6th semester in the “Islamic Studies” discipline. In the 1st and 2nd semesters, the course content emphasizes developing basic knowledge of Arabic literature and grammar. From the 3rd to the 6th semester, the main focus is on Tafseer-ul-Quran, Hadith, the biographies of Sahabah, Arab poets, poetry, and Arabic literature. The course content is specially designed to equip students with the ability to read and write Arabic literature with understanding.
Arabic is also taught as a foreign language in the BSCS Computer Science program during the 8th semester. Teaching Arabic offers a wide range of benefits for students. Its content helps them gain knowledge of basic Arabic grammar and literature. This course also helps computer science students communicate globally, as Arabic is one of the official languages of the United Nations. Additionally, learning Arabic grammar improves cognitive skills, memory, and problem-solving abilities.
