Department of Media and Communication Studies

Introduction:

To equip the students with both creative and practical abilities to thrive in today’s dynamic environment. In the age of widespread information and social media influence, it enables young women to responsibly craft media content. Through their adeptness as creators, they uphold the integrity of journalistic principles. Moreover their abilities to explore emerging trends in the field will be enhanced in order to compete in digital societies.

The Bachelor of Science in Media and Communication Studies empowers the student’s creative, practical and communication skills in this challenging environment of emerging new and old media technologies. In the era of information and social media penetration, it enables the young women to be socially responsible creators of media content.

The department offers three areas of specialization in BS:

  • Journalism
  • Media production: Theater, Film, Radio and Television
  • New Media, Public Relations and Advertising

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To maintain the sacredness of journalistic standards.
  2. To empower the students as skillful creators of Media content.
  3. To provide communication and information technology skills necessary for Mass media.
  4. To explore diverse employment opportunities.

Admission Regulations

  • Pre-admission entry test shall be mandatory for all candidates.
  • The candidates will be interviewed (in person) on the notified dates and the absent candidates will have no claim to admission.

3.  Weightage of Intermediate marks:

40 %

4.  Weightage of Matriculation marks:

10%
